What is a Fanlisting?

A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject.
TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not official) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans.

More information can be found at the 'Official' Fanlistings website at thefanlistings.org.thanks!

Alexander and Hephaestion

Alexander the Great (Alexander III of Macedon) was one of the greatest military genius in history. He conquered much of what was then the civilized world, driven by his divine ambition of the world conquest and the creation of a universal world monarchy.

Hephaestion was Alexander's best friend and they grew up together, attended school together, and were probably around the same age.

There are many references to his relationship with Hephaestion. Many times it is compared to the one between Achilles and Patroclus, in that when they visited the shrine to them at Troy, Alexander placed a wreath on Achilles' grave, while Hephaestion placed one on the one belonging to Patroclus, as if they were taking upon themselves their roles.
In another instance, there was the time when they had defeated Durius, who ran away leaving behind everything, including his wife and family. When Alexander and Hephaestion to possess the house, Darius's mother came to beg for leniency for the women, since the usual fate for conquered women was to be raped. Since Hephaistion was taller and more impressive-looking, the queen mother thought he was Alexander and bowed to him. A eunuch warned her of her mistake, and she tried to bow again to the right guy. But Alexander stopped her, saying, "Never mind, mother. He's Alexander, too."

Historically, since few facts were written during his lifetime, only a few things are concrete. Alexander gave Hephaestion the name Philalexandros (Friend of Alexander), Hephaestion was vice-king (Chiliarch), and he has married the sister of Barsine - Alexander's own wife at the royal wedding in Susa. For all intents and purposes, he was Alexender's Alter Ego.
